The Mannheim-based site (former ABB Kraftwerke AG) plans, designs and sells world-wide fossil –fired power plants and turbines. In addition to that, Alstom is responsible for Power Plant Modernization, Gas and Combined Cycle Power Plants , Hydro-Power Plants as well as Engineering and Instrumentation and Control Systems. In Mannheim’s highly modern production facilities turbines and generators (> 100 MW) are produced and assembled. The turbine-blades are produced in Alstom’s Bexbach factory.

The Energy Audit contains the following
Production of audit report and action plan:
• a picture of energy consumption on site (including electricity, natural
gas and water) and its breakdown
• an assessment of the performance of the major energy consuming
items: compressed air, steam, cold production, ventilation, heating and
air-conditioning, lighting, process consumption
• Recommendations for improving the energy metering plan
• Assessment and prioritization of each proposed improvement (investment, running cost)
• Reporting language is English
The methodology for the study consists in the following steps:
• Preparation of standardized questionnaire for each building
• Site visit, including potential data logging according to the results of the document analysis
• Production of a report clearly and simply summarizing diagnostics and proposed action plan

Timeline:
For the Bexbach site (3 buildings, 8.507 m2 )
Submission of report and closing meeting: 4 weeks after final inspection on site.
For the Manheim site ( 21 buildings, 87.740 m2)
Submission of report and closing meeting: 6 weeks after final inspection on site.
